The 5-member committee set up by Government to manage the football related matters as a result of the injunction placed on the Ghana Football Association will be expected to be inaugurated in the coming days by Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.<\/p>\n

According to a statement signed by Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid (PhD), the committee will oversee the \u201cadministration of football and other related matters\u201d in the country, while more permanent measures are worked out to sanitize the local game.<\/p>\n

The formation of the committee is the latest of government\u2019s reactions to the revelation on\u00a0corruption in football<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in Ghana by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.<\/p>\n

The members of the committee are Dr. Kofi Amoah, who is the chairperson, Cudjoe Fianoo, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) as Secretary, Abedi Pele, former Black Stars skipper, Rev Osei Kofi, former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko player, and Eva Okyere, former sports journalist.<\/p>\n

The committee\u2019s spokesperson will be Peace FM sports reporter, Dan Kweku Yeboah.<\/p>\n

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Sports Ministry Elvis Adjei Baah, the committee is currently being briefed on their mandate, and will be officially introduced in the coming days.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee will essentially handle all football related matters until the time a new body is formed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe are being briefed on their clear mandate and the terms of reference by the Ministry, so in the coming days they will be inaugurated,\u201d he told Citi Sports.<\/p>\n
