There are more instances nothing would have happened had health workers even spoken to patients. The doctor-patient relationship is necessary\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, Director General of the Ghana Health Service has underscored.<\/p>\n<p>Many Ghanaians have raised concerns about how some health workers treat patients which have contributed to\u00a0several loss of lives at health facilities in the country.<\/p>\n<p>But the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in an interview monitored by MynewsGH.com in Kumasi, accepted the fact that some health workers do not put up their best in terms of handling patients at various health centers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bs-irp left bs-irp-thumbnail-1\"><\/div>\n<p>Advising his workers throughout the country, he told them, \u201cYou will have no job to do if patients do not turn up to your facility.\u00a0 Therefore, each one of you must note that, if you are not able to do what patients\u2019 need, you will have no business doing in the hospital\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have so far urged our managers to strictly make sure workers comply with the norms of the service\u201d. He added<\/p>\n<p>He indicated that managers should also make sure people involved in such acts are duly punished without any form of favoritism whiles those hard working should also be highly motivated.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nsiah Asare stressed that GHS will duly implement systems to monitor and reward health workers who will put up good behavior in the discharge of their duties singling out those who have accepted postings to rural areas for their selfless efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an eyesore considering the kind of services some health workers in the rural areas are offering. But the bad nuts are always giving problems to the system\u201d.
