But while I was moving, I discovered that the lady was on the other side and I gave her a little signal to hold on because the capacity with which the water was coming was too much. After I came back from parking my car, I discovered that she made an attempt to go into the water and her car was already locked in the middle of the bridge. We made every attempt to rescue them but it was just unfortunate we rescued only two people.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"attachment_412888\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-412888\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Dr.-Hayfron-accident-1-1024x576.jpeg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Dr.-Hayfron-accident-1-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Dr.-Hayfron-accident-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Dr.-Hayfron-accident-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Dr.-Hayfron-accident-1.jpeg 1032w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Her body was discovered on Wednesday morning<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<blockquote><p>He added that, \u201cShe picked two people in her car to help them cross to the other side. It was so unfortunate that for her, we could not rescue her. The time we wanted to reach out to her, that was when the water took her in the car into the gutter. We made every possible effort to save her but we couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The fishermen, after pouring libation early on Wednesday morning found the body.<\/p>\n<p>The family has since confirmed the discovery of\u00a0Dr. Ayah Hayfron\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hayfron, according to her husband, Bernard Kofi Agyei Oppong, has a 15-month-old child.<\/p>\n<p>With the onset of rainy season, many\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2018\/06\/19\/residents-trapped-as-monday-downpour-submerges-accra-photos\/\">homes and offices have lost properties<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0as a result of flood waters rushing into their buildings.<\/p>\n<p>So far,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2018\/06\/19\/woman-2-grand-kids-electrocuted-amidst-rain-in-sokpoe\/\"><strong>7 people are believed to have died<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0as a result of the downpour on Monday, with scores displaced, especially in flood-prone areas.<\/p>\n<p>Many have partly blamed the situation on the siting of structures on waterways, and blocking of drainage systems that force rushing flood waters onto streets and into homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013<\/p>\n<p>Source: Citinewsroom.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some fishermen close to the Kpeshie Lagoon in Accra, have found the body of Dr. Ayah Hayfron who went missing after Monday night\u2019s rains that flooded several areas.
