Barely a month to the expiration of his contract, Dr Wilfred Anim-Odame, Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission has been sacked by President Akufo-Addo.
\nHe has been asked to report to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, John Peter Amewu, for re-assignment.<\/p>\n
Dr Anim-Odame\u2019s contract ends on 14 July 2018. It is not clear why the president has decided not to renew his contract.<\/p>\n
A letter communicating his fate said the \u201cPresident of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo is not in a position to renew your contract as Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission for another term\u201d, adding: \u201cReport to the Hon. Minister for re-assignment at the end of your leave.\u201d<\/p>\n
One Alhaji Suleimana Mahama, a former Chief Director of the Lands Ministry has been appointed to act as Executive Secretary in the meantime.<\/p>\n
The sacking of the Lands Commission executive secretary comes barely two weeks after the dismissal of four Chief executives of parastatal institutions including the CEO of the Korlebu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Felix Anyah, The CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority Gifty Klenam, the MD of BOST Alfred Obeng and the Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority Paul Asare Ansah.<\/p>\n
The director of communications at the presidency Eugene Arhin in an interview at the time of their dismissal gave an indication that many more CEO\u2019S would be fired.
\nThe dismissal of Dr. Anim-Odame perhaps lays credence to the pronouncements of Mr. Arhin. So who is next to go?<\/p>\n
