A self-styled traditional healer in Nigeria has died after one of his clients tested his \u201cbullet-proof\u201d charms on him.<\/p>\n
Chinaka Adoezuwe, 26, was killed after instructing the man to shoot him as he was wearing the charms around his neck.<\/p>\n
Police in the country\u2019s south-eastern Imo state say the client has been arrested on suspicion of murder.<\/p>\n
Charms are popular in Nigeria, where traditional healers are consulted for cures for various ailments.<\/p>\n
But there have been several reports of people being killed after testing \u201cbullet-proof\u201d charms and medicines.<\/p>\n
\u201cA young man had gone to [the healer] to prepare bullet-proof charms for him, which the native doctor did,\u201d\u00a0a villager told the Punch newspaper.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo prove the efficacy of the new charms, [he] positioned and handed over a gun to his customer. Tragedy struck.\u201d<\/p>\n
In January,\u00a0a traditional medicine seller was arrested\u00a0after a man drank a \u201cbullet-repelling\u201d liquid and was shot dead.<\/p>\n
The seller in north-western Nigeria reportedly assured the man that he could not die if he was shot.<\/p>\n
