{"id":9660,"date":"2018-07-08T00:04:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-08T00:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=9660"},"modified":"2018-07-08T00:04:27","modified_gmt":"2018-07-08T00:04:27","slug":"caf-suspends-11-referees-bans-11-others-over-anas-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=9660","title":{"rendered":"CAF suspends 11 referees, bans 11 others over Anas video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended some eleven (11) referees who were caught on video by undercover investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, allegedly taking monies to fix matches.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven (11) others have also been handed bans ranging from two to ten years.<\/p>\n<p>Other referees have also been banned for life.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rM4kzC6FyTk\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nPer a statement released by CAF, ten of the affected referees who hail from Ghana have all been suspended \u201cpending their appearance in front of the Disciplinary Board on 5th August 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ghanaian referees mentioned are Reginald Lathbridge, Bello Aboudou, Eric Nantiere, Cecil Fleischer, Nathan Anafo, Ouedraogo Dawood, Salifu Malik, Theresa Akongyam, Badiu Ibrahim, Jerry Yekeh and David Laryea.<\/p>\n<p>For referee Lathbridge, any more punishment from CAF will further compound the misery that has befallen his career.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2018, he was given a lifetime ban by the Ghana Football Association for failing to submit a complete ans accurate match report during the 2017 Ghana Premier League season.<\/p>\n<p>The report was in relation to match involving Elmina Sharks and\u00a0Bechem United.
