Prior to the election, a poll believed to have been conducted by the National Security<\/a><\/strong>tipped John Boadu to win the General Secretary slot.<\/p>\nThe poll tipped Mr. Boadu to win by 78%.<\/p>\n
The same poll also tipped Freddie Blay to win the National chairmanship slot with 53%.<\/p>\n
Profile of John Boadu<\/h3>\n
From 1996 to 2000, John Boadu was the Polling Station Chairman and Polling Agent for the NPP at the Korle Bu Polling Station in Accra.<\/p>\n
From June 1999 to November 2002, he was the Constituency Secretary of the Ablekuma South Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n
In 2002, he was elected the National Youth Treasurer of the NPP.<\/p>\n
He also became the Secretary-General of the Organisation of African Liberal Youth (OALY) between 2003 and 2006.<\/p>\n
He then moved on to the position of National Youth Organizer between 2006 and 2010, and then went on to become a Deputy Director of Communications from 2011 to 2013.<\/p>\n
About 6,000 delegates of the party gathered at the campus of the Koforidua Technical University for the election.<\/p>\n
Nearly every key member of the party who matters, including the President, his Vice, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, ministers of state and members of parliament attended the conference.<\/p>\n
