he Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has described as \u201cfoolish\u201d the questions about the timing of his\u00a0purchase of 275 buses<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituencies across the country.<\/p>\n

Mr. Blay has been accused of vote-buying after he took delivery of 100 out of the 275 buses he procured for the constituency offices days to the party\u2019s delegates conference where he was contesting to be substantive chairman.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a Joy News interview, Freddie Blay said arrangements for the purchase of the minibuses were several months ahead of the NPP\u2019s delegates conference and was before he sought reelection.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy now? If yesterday I didn\u2019t do business and today I do business, [they\u2019ll] ask why now. It is a very foolish question for people to ask. If some people have done it yesterday and today I am in the position to do it. That arrangement was not started two weeks to election, not one month to election\u2026 It\u2019s about 11 months [ago]. I had not even decided to contest,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mr. Blay has been widely criticized after he took delivery of the first batch of 100 minibuses, barely three days to the party\u2019s national delegate\u2019s congress in Koforidua.<\/p>\n
