Some of these musicians either through inspiration, admiration or copy-cat tendencies sound like him.<\/p>\n<p>Daddy Lumba made an entry into the music industry in the early 1980s with \u2018Yereye Aka Akwantuo Mu\u2019 which he did with Nana Acheampong (they were then known as Lumba Brothers).<\/p>\n<p>Since then, he has consistently released a lot of monster hit songs, thereby making him one of the most sought-after highlife musicians in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hs7S2bXMqCU\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some musicians who sing like the \u2018Aben Waha\u2019 hit maker are Dada KD, Paapa Shee, Ofori Amponsah, Kofi Nti, Ama Ba, Richie Rich and Anokye Supremo (formerly DL Junior).<\/p>\n<p><strong>i. Dada KD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-423173 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/dada-kd.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 677px) 100vw, 677px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/dada-kd.jpg 770w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/dada-kd-300x203.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/dada-kd-768x520.jpg 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"677\" height=\"458\" \/>Born Dada Kwaku Duah, Dada KD is well known for his velvety voice and songs about love.<\/p>\n<p>Some of his songs include \u2018Ebeboawo,\u2019 \u2018Obiara Se Eye,\u2019\u00a0 \u2018Somgye\u2019 and \u2018Mewura.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He was adjudged Best Male Vocal Artist (Ghana Music Awards) in Britain in 2004 by Ghanaians resident in Britain.<\/p>\n<p>Dada KD once worked with bands like RELATIVES in Germany, with Kojo Antwi\u2019s Band, Tropical Vibes (Accra) and also with Amakye Dede\u2019s band.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ii. Paapa Shee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-423177 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Papa-Shee-then.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Papa-Shee-then.jpg 620w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Papa-Shee-then-300x290.jpg 300w\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Papa Shee (now a minister of the gospel) is well known for songs like \u2018Koyoonsor,\u2019 \u2018Atadwe,\u2019 \u2018Yaa Asantewa,\u2019 \u2018Atepa,\u2019 among others.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6aHBrjnPbek\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Previously known as the Wonder Boy, he used to perform at a lot of Ghanaian entertainment events in the United States of America when he was at his prime.<\/p>\n<p>Paapa Shee was the first Ghanaian musician to release a DVD on the music scene.<\/p>\n<p>Dancing since he was six years old, he became known early in his teenage years as a lead danger for many famous Ghanaian recording artists such as Dady Lumba and the late Mr.AAA (Akwasi Amphofo Adjei).<\/p>\n<p><strong>iii. Ofori Amponah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-423178 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/ofori.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/ofori.png 768w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/ofori-300x244.png 300w\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ofori Amponsah is a highlife musician who took a foray into gospel music and ministry few years ago but returned when it occurred to him he had not really been called for God\u2019s work.<\/p>\n<p>He is a prot\u00e9g\u00e9 of Daddy Lumba. He first got the exposure in the music industry when he was featured on Daddy Lumba\u2019s album \u2018Wo Ho Kyere.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>On the song, their voices sound too similar that one has to really strain to differentiate between which is Lumba\u2019s and which is Ofori\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>After releasing his own production \u2018Asew\u2019 under Owusek Productions in 2001, he became a household name.<\/p>\n<p>He followed with albums like \u2018Mepraw.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>In 2005, Amponsah released \u2018Otoolege\u2019 which had KK Fosu, Kofi Nti, and Barosky.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. All for Real won big the next year at the Ghana Music Awards with seven awards. \u2018Otoolege\u2019 won him 2005 VGMA Artist of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 when he released \u2018Alewa\u2019 after making a u-turn from the word for the \u2018world.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Ofori Amponsah later admitted that starting the Family of Faith and Love Ministries was a miscalculated step.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iv. Kofi Nti<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-423180 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Kofi-Nti.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 618px) 100vw, 618px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Kofi-Nti.jpg 618w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Kofi-Nti-300x193.jpg 300w\" alt=\"\" width=\"618\" height=\"398\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kofi Nti is another artiste whose style of singing and vocal texture bears great resemblance to Daddy Lumba\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Born on the 25th January, 1980, Kofi Nti comes from Aburi in the Eastern Region of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>His \u2018Rakia\u2019 featured some of Ghana\u2019s most renounced best artistes namely K.K Fosu, Ofori Amponsah, and Isaac Mensah Obeng (Barosky).<\/p>\n<p>He also has songs like \u2018Monica,\u2019 \u2018Atwetan,\u2019 \u2018Odo Nwom,\u2019 and others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>v. Ama Ba<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-423181 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/ama-ba.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/ama-ba.jpg 318w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/ama-ba-300x264.jpg 300w\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"451\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Amaba may not be as popular as the others but he also released a couple of highlife songs. In fact, until Anokye Supremo, most people considered his voice as the closest in similarity to Daddy Lumba\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SqW1FjPxNkM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He has not been visible in the music industry recently but he is known for songs like Nipa Nye Nyame.<\/p>\n<p>On 20th October, 2016 George Kwabena Opoku (real name) ditched secular music for gospel with the launch of his album \u2018My Soul\u2019 which has tracks like \u2018Nipa Nnye Nyame,\u2019 \u2018Onim Nea Oye\u2019 and \u2018Ebenezer.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>vi. Richie Rich<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-423182 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/richie.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/richie.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/richie-200x300.jpg 200w\" alt=\"\" width=\"513\" height=\"770\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Richie Rich is well known for his feature on C-Zar\u2019s \u2018Mercy Loko\u2019 and \u2018Befe Ma No.\u2019 He did the chorus on those songs.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IzweYfuqkrs\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He was inspired to do music when he started listening to Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba) and Ofori Amponsah.<\/p>\n<p>He got featured on some of Ofori Amponsah\u2019s songs after he was introduced to him by C-Zar.<\/p>\n<p>Richie has songs like \u2018Nsroma,\u2019 \u2018Tasty\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vii. Anokye Supremo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-423183 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/anokye.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 589px) 100vw, 589px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/anokye.jpg 853w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/anokye-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/anokye-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/anokye-682x1024.jpg 682w\" alt=\"\" width=\"589\" height=\"884\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Undoubtedly, Emmanuel Kwame Anokye known showbiz as Anokye Supremo is the only artiste who does not sing just like Daddy Lumba, but also a spit image of the highlife legend.<\/p>\n<p>He was discovered through a TV Africa-produced reality show, \u2018Just Like You\u2019 which took place in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Just Like You\u2019 was a reality TV show which gave artistes the platform to mimic their favourite celebrities. Anokye Supremo imitated Daddy Lumba.<\/p>\n<p>After the show, Anokye Supremo (DL Jnr.) who has similar looks as Daddy Lumba has been plying his trade as a musician.<\/p>\n<p>On 17th January, 2018, Daddy Lumba filed a lawsuit at the Accra High Court alleging that Anokye had claimed to be his son and even impersonated him to get gifts from people.<\/p>\n<p>He further alleged that Anokye had a history of impersonating him since his appearance on a<\/p>\n<p>Even though the case is still pending in court, the Lumba look-alike changed his name from DL Junior to Anokye Supremo.<\/p>\n<p>He has songs songs like \u2018Befa Me,\u2019 \u2018Efri Nea Efire, \u2018Krom Aye De\u2019 and the latest \u2018Hash Wuish.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-KqTP3eo5D0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u2013<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known in music circles as Daddy Lumba is perhaps the only Ghanaian musician who has the highest number of \u2018sing-alikes.\u2019 After successfully etching his name in the annals of Ghanaian music as one of the best musicians, he has also impacted greatly on other musicians.
