Menzgold Customers in Ashanti Regional Capital Kumasi have threatened to stage a massive demonstration following management’s failure to pay them their capital and accrued interest.

Management of Menzgold issued a payment plan to pay their customers dividends after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ordered the closure of Menzgold offices.

Prior to that, Menzgold customers in the Ashanti region have made arrangement to also embark on a naked demonstration to air their grievances.

The customers on Thursday stormed the Amakom branch of Menzgold to demand for their dividends and capital after they decided to terminate their contract with the company.

In an interview on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkra the leader of Menzgold’s customers in the Ashanti Region,  Mr Baffour Amankwah said that they will not sit down for their huge investment to go waste.

He said that they cannot lose their investments because of their negligence as a company.

Mr Baffour Amankwah also said that they would not only blame Menzgold if things go wrong but that of the regulatory bodies that are mandated to do proper checks on them before granting them the requisite documentation to operate.

He noted that customers who wish to terminate their investment transaction have the right to after they have a meeting with them per the contract signed.

The company this week said it has reached an agreement with its customers to scrap the payment of dividends to them.

The agreement is said to have been reached at a crunch meeting between Menzgold, customers and stakeholders on October 7, 2018 at Korkdam Hotel.

“During the said meeting held around 3 pm, it was generally agreed that due to the challenges faced by the company and the fact that customers are no longer interested in dividends, it was wise to scrap the dividends,” a statement from Menzgold said.
