The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Lydia Dsane-Selby, has tested positive for the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Sources within the Authority confirmed this to citinewsroom.com.

The NHIA is yet to give further details on the development.

She becomes the fourth government appointee known to have tested positive for the virus after the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Papa Owusu Ankomah and Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Anthony K.K. Sam.

K.K. Sam, however, succumbed to the disease.

The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah earlier disclosed that Agyeman Manu who was receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) has been discharged and is receiving treatment at home.

“He [Agyeman Manu] told me is home. He is in good spirits,” Oppong Nkrumah said.
