Accra Girls’ Tutor & Spouse Test Positive For Coronavirus

A tutor of the Accra Girls’ Senior High School in the Greater Accra region has tested positive for Coronavirus.

A joint statement by the Ghana Education Service(GES) and Ghana Health Service(GHS) reveals that the spouse of the tutor has also tested positive for the virus.

The tutor and the spouse according to the statement have been moved to a treatment centre.

“GES AND GHS wish to assure the general public and parents that in accordance with the laid-down protocols on the COVID-19 pandemic that have been issued to all schools, the necessary steps have been taken and the six (6) confirmed students, the teacher and spouse have been taken to a Treatment Centre for further management and are currently doing well”.

Some anxious parents besieged the campus of Accra Girls’ Senior High School region demanding to be allowed to take their wards home.

The demand by the parents follows reports that six of the students have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
