The Police Service has secured a court order to stop the planned #FIXTHECOUNTRY street protest scheduled for Sunday, May 9, 2021.

The High Court presided by Justice Ruby Aryeetey issued a Restraining Order against conveners until the restriction on public gathering is lifted.

The action comes after the convenors met the National Security Minister and other cabinet ministers of the government.

The group in an earlier statement said there is no current executive order prohibiting them from protesting on the street as all presidential orders put in place in the height of COVID-19 have expired.

The protest mainly led by the youth is drawing attention to the lack of opportunities for the youth and general living conditions in the country. The concerns range from the recent fuel price increment to wastage in public office by political officeholders.

Some celebrities have added their voices to the concerns being projected by the convenors.
