SAD : Armed robbers kill policeman escorting Bullion van, chase banker who raised alarm & shot her dead too

Armed Robbers have shot dead a Constable Emmanuel Osei, a Police Officer with the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit of the Ghana Police Service detailed to MonTran Bullion Van at James Town in Accra.

Police investigators indicate that the Policeman was shot dead by three armed robbers who were using two motorbikes.

One other occupant of the bullion van Afua Badu according to the investigators was also chased and shot dead by the armed robbers because she raised an alarm.

Another official whose name was given as Grace Essel was able to escape into the community and has been sent to the hospital for treatment.

Police said upon arrival at the scene, the driver of the bullion van was nowhere to be found but later got information that he had gone to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The armed robbers, according to the Police made away with an AK 47 gun belonging to the Police and an unspecified amount of money.
