The country has witnessed completely insecurity, indecency, and the killing of police officers and civilians in recent months; reports suggest that some officers sometimes commit suicide; notwithstanding, there have been reckless attacks on bullion vans; these, and other incidents, appear to frighten Ghanaians. As a result, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has been urged to appoint COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, the former Ashanti regional police commander, as the Inspector General of Police.
They have dragged the matter back and forth on social media sites, radio talk shows, and other venues, considering the actionable police commander as the IGP.
On Akomafm’s morning show program today, some callers also added their voice to the call,they said ”Nana Addo must appoint COP Kofi Boakye as the IGP, he can handle the situation better”.
