A Young Lady Marries River As Town Elders Initiate Her As High Priestess

Following the death of the old wife, the River god of Ekumfi Essarkyir has finally chosen a new wife after a 40-year hunt.
Nana Afoa, a young lady, was chosen by the River god and dutifully married to him.

The River deity is reported to have chosen this young girl out of all the women in town.

She is now the man Kmfo (High Priestess) of Ekumfi Essarkyir in Ghana’s Central Region, following the completion of the marriage rite.
