Here are some Fact you didn’t Know about Sam George And Why he is Fighting for the Passage of the LGBTI Bill, Read

Here are some things you didn’t Know about Sam George And Why he is Fighting Against the LGBTI

Sam Nartey George is a Ghanaian astute politician who was born on the 22nd of January 1985.

Which means he clocked the age of 36 this year, making him one of the young politicians in Ghana.

He is married to a beautiful lady called Vera and they have a child together.

He is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

His took a major political step in November 2015, when he defeated the incumbent parliamentarian E. T. Mensah to represent the party in the 2016 parliamentary elections for the Ningo-Prampram constituency.

He is currently a member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing Ningo-Prampram constituency.

He studied Agricultural Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

As a Parliamentarian, Sam George is serving on both the Public Accounts Committee and the Communications Committee.

Sam George holds Anti LGBTI views and has described homosexuality as a “perversion”.

Perversion means sexual behaviour that is considered abnormal and unacceptable.

Recently, together with other Members of Parliament, namely Honorable Bedzrah Emma Kwasi, Helen Adjoa Ntoso, John Ntim Fordjor, Alhassan Suhuyini, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, and honorable Dafeamekpor, Etse Rockson Nelson, whose pictures are above, he proposed a law to criminalize homosexuality and many forms of LGBTI support and activism, even medical support.

The draft has been widely criticized by human rights activists defining the action as “cruelty”.

According to him as he posted on his Facebook page, there are a lot of uninformed commentaries, emotional huffing and puffing and vain grandstanding from persons who have failed to grasp the import of the Bill.

So far, he adds “not even one intellectual challenge seen.

We are focused on the substance and would pass this Bill”.

Aside of Sam George being a Politician, he is a Fervent Christian who is currently serving as an Elder in Perez Chapel International founded and being headed by Bishop Charles Agyinasare.

Despite the hash criticisms and hullabaloo surrounding the criminalization of LGBTI+ Sam Nartey George seemed unperturbed about what people (human rights advocate) are saying.

This is not surprising because for someone who is a staunch Christian and a Fervent holder of the Christian faith, who fortunately is a member of the highest law making body in Ghana, I believe it is important and right to push this Bill through in order to save this nation from experiencing the wrath of God.

Most of us Christians know about the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and how their perverse sexual immorality brought distraction and ruin to their land.

As such, if we are blessed to have a God fearing Member of Parliament who is possibly not corrupted with money to pursue such an agenda, we have to give him our needed support.

It is rather important to help reorient the mindset of those practicing homosexuality.

Again, if these people need extra help such as medical, psychological or spiritual, let’s not abandon them but rally behind and help them out.

Honorable Sam Nartey George, however has indicated as he posted on his Facebook page ” you have every right to disagree with our Bill.

We can live and tolerate it your disagreement.

However, let your disagreement be based on Law, Fact and Science.

Not your emotions or thoughts. We are open for anyone who has a memorandum on the Bill to submit to the Parliamentary Committee when it calls for same.

We are ready to debate the issues with anyone or group so long as it is based on Law. We are Legislators”

In ending this article, I will indicate again that, it is rather important to help reorient the mindset of those practicing homosexuality.

Again, if these people need extra help such as medical, psychological or spiritual, let’s not abandon them but rally behind and help them out.

Nonetheless, let put our weight behind Honorable Sam George and let pass the Bill criminalizing LGBTI+ in Ghana.
