South Sudan Government plans to circumcise 1.5 million men

As part of efforts to control the spread of HIV, the Government of South Sudan is planning to at least circumcise 1.5 million men.

Local media reports monitored by African Entertainment revealed that over a period of five years, youths and men aged 15 to 49 years will be circumcised.

The South Sudanese Government is reported to have said that low circumcision rates have become a major concern when it comes to the spread of HIV.

Reports say a number of communities in South Sudan don’t allow their men to be circumcised.
