Serwaa Broni, a woman who has been referred as the side chic of President Akufo-Addo had her name popped in Parliament while legislative work was ongoing.
This happened after lawmaker for Bongo, Edward Bawa used her name to address an issue in the house on November 3, 2021.
“That is why I indicate that as a country, we should not allow our selfish, unbridled quest for riches affect our national agenda. That is why today, you will go to Bongo or Adaklu and you have small children, maybe the future Edward Bawas, maybe the future Serwaa Bronis …”
This however did not go down well with the Second Deputy Speaker Lawrence Asiamah Amoako who was acting in the absence of the main speaker and first deputy speaker; albeit causing loud uproar from the Members of Parliament.
The speaker asked Edward Bongo to withdraw the name which he obliged and replaced with Serwaa Akoto.”
