As concerned entities, the Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Health seems to be worried and surprised simultaneously over the way and manner Ghanaian citizens seems to neglect the COVID-19 jabs that is being administered at majority health centers nationwide.

This report is derived from news observe by by this reporter on the News 360 on TV3 today.

Per the centres the media house and its team visited especially within Accra, and Kumasi during the day, the Nurses and those in charge of the facility as well as those working on the COVID-19 jab team seems to confused over what is happening.

From a Nurse’s narrative, a few months back, some patients visit their centres, inquired of the types of jabs available and after being told the ones the GHS has got, they ask why they do not have some other varieties.

A section of them even told the Health workers that they are waiting for a single dose kind of vaccine to be administered on them.

But for now, the GHS have obtained about five different types of vaccines including Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, Sputnik V, and the AstraZeneca vaccines and yet, people are not coming in their numbers. Some of those who visit the centers are still reluctant in taking the jabs.

The lady Nurse added that some people were giving some excuses that they as Health workers do not really understand.

Could it be that lately, the virus and thr rate at which people are contracting it seems to be slowing and so, they have this kind of belief that is not with us any longer?

Whatever being the case, it appears that the power to influence the masses to get vaccinated now lies within the religious and corporate bodies because majority of the working force in the nation are still reluctant in taking the jab.

It also lies in the power of the Civic Education unit in the country, the Ghana Police Service to penalize those walking around without the masks, and the education being carried within the localities because some of the people genuinely do not know that the vaccines are now in abundance and they need to get them for free.

Again, some of those who unfortunately captured the virus and the Ambassadors of the COVID-19 vaccines should get themselves on the media to talk to them about their experiences and educate them on the need to get them.

But, should some rewards, penalties, and continuous education are being done, the people would still hesitate.
