The United Showbiz on UTV is one of the most-watched Saturday night shows in the country. The entertainment show plays host to various celebrities who express their opinions about trending issues not just in the entertainment industry, but the entire country at large. Today, the November 6 edition of the show saw the come back of the regular host, Nana Ama Mcbrown after she had gone on break for sometimes ago. One of the celebrities who graced the program was Nana Aba Anamoah, the renowned broadcaste. The outspoken media personality, who draws reactions with her mastery over the Queen’s language, brings her experience to bear on the various topic of discussion.

Among other things, Nana Aba Anamoah tackled issues on the state of the prisons service in the country. According to the ace broadcaster, the state of our prison service is nothing to write home about. Due to the deplorable nature of the prisons in the country, it is not able to perform the rehabilitation function it is meant to do for inmates. Nana Aba Anamoah pointed out that, he knows the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare is a progressive individual and she is hopeful Dampare will fix the challenges faced by inmates in our prisons. She therefore urged Dampare to take a look at the condition of the prison service.

Bulldog who was also a panelist of the show added that the police service should pay more attention to inmates on remand. He said it appears that those who are on remand go through a lot since they are overcrowded in their cells and kept at one place for the whole time.
