Today, an unfortunate thing happened during the contest which featured Wesley Girls Senior High School, Pope John School, and Konongo Odumase Senior High School. What most people do not know is that behind the beauty contest which is moderated by Dr. Elsie Kaufman, there are some Professors and teachers who are referred to as consultants who set the questions for the quiz mistress to read.
Therefore, it was surprising when the quiz mistress announced, after the second round that she had to nullify a question that was read during the first round of the contest.
“I have a serious concern to share with you. The last set of chemistry questions which hovered around radioactive decay into various particle, I have a serious problem with it. The element we used int he question, we were not supposed to get the decay we were expecting. This was the reason she gave.
“This is an educational program and since there is something wrong with the question, I will have to withdraw it. I am sorry. I accept the full responsibility. I take the full blame”, she added.
I must admit, this is the first time I have seen this happen. Usually, it is the students who do make the mistakes.
