Special Aide to former President Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari has laughed off claims that Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the most effective Vice President in the history of Ghana.

An article published recently in the Graphic Online eulogised Dr Bawumia as the most impactful Vice President in Ghana’s fourth republic.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his nearly six years as Vice President of Ghana, has, without doubt, redefined the role of Vice President of Ghana, by making it attractive through his impactful leadership”, portions of the said articles published on Graphic Online on December 10, 2022.

However, Mrs Bawa Mogtari described the above assertions as “laughable propaganda”, which “will fall flat”.

She posits that under Dr Bawumia’s watch as the head of the Economic Management Team (EMT) Ghana’s economy has been mismanaged, resulting in excruciating hardship on the citizenry.

Below is the full statement from Joyce Bawa Mogtari

Good morning everyone!

Before you agree with the misleading headline that Dr Bawumia is the most effective Vice President, know that:

that laughable propaganda will fall flat;

that under his watch, the Economic Management Team has thoroughly mismanaged our economy;

that they expended a whopping GHC 339 million on the Cathedral that is at ground zero;

and that under him, all of our economic indicators are in the negative, and that Ghana’s inflation rate is 50.3%, the highest in 27 years and that the USD which was around Ghc4 when he took over is now according to NPPs propaganda and thanks to the IMF now selling at Ghc 10.5. Whilst we await the harshest realities of going into an IMF program.

Remember that until recently we were told boldly that “Ghana is a proud nation and will not be going to the IMF” (Ken Ofori Atta Finance Minister)!

That is the reality the suffering masses of Ghanaians know and are living
