Several Citizens and Educationists are of the concern that both Director General and Education Minister have not Visited the Northern part of Ghana for monitoring and Assessment. The north has 5 Regions Including Upper West Region, Upper East, Savannah, North East and Nothern Region.

It’s believed all Authorities are avoiding the north due to perception that the north is hallow and will expose them to more responsibilities and the bitter truth. The Truth is that several Schools in the north aren’t equipped, they either lack teachers, infrastucture, Accommodation, Furniture of ICT Centers etc

Some teachers have also called for teacher associations to demand for rent allowance to support teachers.

According to Overseer of Africa Education Watch, Mr. Kofi Asare, “Less than 8% of private schools wrote the 2022 National Standardized Test for Primary 4.

Unacceptable!”

The Ghana Education Service has also indicated that the Acting Director General, Mr. Eric Nkansah together with the Education Minister Visited some Schools in the Southern Belt of Ghana, has any Director General of Education Minister Ever Visited the North during his or her Tour.

Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Acting Director-General of GES and the Hon. Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum monitored the National Standardized Test(NST) in some schools within the Nii Amugi Cluster of Schools, Adabraka on Friday, 16th December 2022.
