Yaw Preko has been named the new lead coach of Ghana’s U-15 boys team, according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

On Monday, April 22, 2024, the GFA released a statement stating that Preko takes office and starts working right away.

Yaw Preko is a seasoned football club manager with an impressive appreciation of local and regional football, having garnered experience as a lead coach with Medeama SC and Great Olympics. He served as an assistant coach at Accra Hearts of Oak and Ifeanyi Ubah in Nigeria.

A storied former Black Stars striker, Preko once managed the Black Satellites (U-20).

Awudu Issaka and Mubarak Gado, will serve as Yaw Preko’s deputies.

The U-15 national boys team is one of four new divisions created by the GFA, as important grassroots projects for scouting and developing promising talents, giving them needed guidance and support for personal growth and patriotic purposes.
