Deputy General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Tony Baffoe, is calling for more ex-Internationals to get involved in the development of women’s football in the country.

Ghanaian hearts were broken when the Black Queens crashed out of the ongoing AWCON in the group stages, despite playing the tournament at home.

Head Coach Bashir Hayford, the players and even the government have since been blamed for the disappointing exit.

But the former Black Stars captain believes Ghana can perform better in future competitions, if more ex internationals step up and get involved in the quest to develop female football.

He further challenged former Black Queens captain Adjoa Bayor, in particular, to take up an active role in the Black Queens, as she, in his opinion, still has a lot to offer the upcoming generation.

“Adjoa Bayor is one of the biggest assets we have as a nation in regards to women’s football,” he said.

“I want Adwoa Bayor to be involved in the team.

“She can contribute to the team alot. She can be a role model to the younger girls. She can create a huge impact.”
