Liberian songstress and former member of Irene and Jane music group, Irene Logan recently disclosed that she used to be a chain smoker until she found God and gave up on her bad habits for good.
Irene who has been living almost her entire life in Ghana, has revealed that she used to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day but has now surrendered and she’s now interested in doing things with God.
Songstress Efya born Jane Awindor, who used to be in the same group with Irene has applauded her colleague for her bold step and admits Irene will succeed in her new chosen field of endeavour.
On GBC Radio Central, Efya told Amansan Krakye, Cape Coast’s finest radio presenter that she also loves God just like her friend Irene and she uses every opportunity she gets on stage to sometimes perform gospel music though she does secular songs.
She remarked “Oh yeah she’s always loved God so I think it’s a beautiful thing. I love God too and I do sing gospel music on stage.
When Efya was asked if she’s also ready to ditch her bad habits and do away with her secular music to pursue the work of God wholeheartedly,
She answered “So I don’t think it’s something you have to just separate yourself and say you’re doing gospel music or you’re no more doing secular music. Unless you are convinced about what specifically you want to do.
“Irene has an amazing voice and one of the best in Africa so I believe whatever she’s going to sing is going to be beautiful anyway.
“Glory be onto God”, she concluded.
