Following the defeat to Morocco, Black Stars of Ghana will have another opportunity to make amends with Ivory Coast in few days time.

Some pertinent observations were made in the game against Morocco, hence, head coach Charles Akonnor may go for some changes to prove a point.

In the game played yesterday, Ghana conceded following Razak Abalora’s howler in goal post. The goalkeeper has come under servers flaks, as others believe he has committed same errors in different games. Some also argue, the Asante Kotoko shot stopper has become complacent due to lack of competition. Some have suggested he must be dropped as soon as possible, to make way for other goalkeepers to be assessed. Since talent is about in the country, there is no need to be wary over who keeps the post for Ghana. By this, coach Charles Akonnor will come under surveillance in the game against Ivory Coast. The decision to play Razak Abalora or not, will be made by Akonnor, and that may be met with opinions, depending on it goes.

Another area to receive attention in the next game is midfield. As Kudus Mohammed has become fans favorite, others are yet to convince many with their control of the game. Charles Akonnor is expected to hand opportunity to others to prove their worth for the national team.

Upfront, concerns has been expressed about the inability of strikers to bang in goals. Against Morocco, strikers were not able to complicate matters for defenders, which allowed the opponent to embark on a holiday. Coming up against Ivory Coast, head coach Charles Akonnor may tweak his approach to accommodate others. Since Ivory Coast is not a mere side, Ghana will need to go with a well – thought – out – strategy in ensuring a clean sheet on that day.

The task of conquering Africa and must be noted it involves blood, sweat and tears.
