The veteran journalist, Kwesi Pratt, has revealed that between now and 2024, efforts will be made by the NPP to reduce NDC numbers in Parliament.

Kwesi Pratt made this revelation on ‘Good Morning Africa’ on Pan Africa television, following the annulment of the 2020 Parliamentary election for Assin North Constituency by a Cape Coast high court.

According to Kwesi Pratt, he hopes that the NDC is learning some very important lessons that its recklessness will come to an end someday because they haven’t appreciated the power given to them by Ghanaians.

He indicated that after the end of the 2020 election, Ghanaians gave the NDC 137 seats and gave the NPP 137 seats in Parliament. Instead of the NDC using these numbers to promote the interest of the Ghanaian people, NDC decided to use these numbers to make deals.

He stated that NDC has 137 seats and the NPP has 137 seats, and there is one independent candidate, yet the NDC describes itself as the minority in Parliament. This is something he cannot understand. They should come and explain it to us.

“I have said persistently that between now and 2024, a serious effort will be made by the NPP to reduce the NDC numbers in Parliament. They will go to court and use all the arsenals they have to reduce that number. This Assin North issue is perhaps the first move they’ve made to reduce the NDC numbers.”

The NDC might want to go to the supreme court, but who decides at the Supreme court? It’s just a few judges who will sit on the case. How are they sure that they will rule in their favor?

If there is a by-election, why would Ghanaians rally behind the NDC in other to make their numbers 137-137? What did they do with the 137 Ghanaians gave them in the 2020 election? They went and approved anything the government put before them.

He added that the motivations that will make Ghanaians rally behind NDC to give them 137 seats or increase their numbers have been trampled upon by the NDC themselves, and If care is not taken by 2024, the NDC will be leaping.
