Captain Smart is in the news again. The versatile journalist seems to be grabbing headlines week in and week out. Captain Smart who joined Media General some few months ago has started a verbal war on politicians in the country and has not spared his own ruling party. According to Captain Smart, the leaders of the nation have abandoned the youth to their fate and this is a worrying phenomenon.
Today, Monday, August 2, 2021 Captain Smart told of some discoveries he made over the weekend. According to Captain, he went to Fadama alongside Avram Ben Moshe and Ernesto Yeboah of the Economic Fighters. He spoke about the living condition in that area and how some policemen and women are part of a smoking syndicate there.
Captain was of the view that the youth in that area shouldn’t have been left to rot or waste their lives. He chastised politicians for visiting the area during elections only to give the people matches so they use for smoking. He explained that the youth should wise up and not allow themselves to be exploited by politicians.
“When you talk to people there you will end up crying. I talked to a young lady and she said she sells her body to men before she eats. Come and see the youth there. There is no school and they are wasting away. Our presidents come from good homes and so careless. John Mahama doesn’t know poverty. His father was a minister. He doesn’t understand us when we talk about suffering. People are suffering and change must come” Captain Smart said.
The Fix the country demonstration comes off on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Captain Smart urged all Ghanaians to join the march and send a message to leadership that the time for changes was here.
