Black Stars head coach Milovan Rajevac has officially engaged his players for the first time on the field since his appointment.
The Black Stars of Ghana commenced training this afternoon ahead of World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe at Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday. This gave head coach Milovan Rajevac a remarkable opportunity to come into contact with his players on the pitch.
Scenes from the maiden training chanced upon shows the coach taking his players through drills. He leads his charges through some exercise and technical directions on the field. He is actively involved in training session which could hardly create a vacuum between the coach and players.
From the first training session, Milovan Rajevac will now get a gist of material available for the coming assignment.
Pre and post training, the usual expectations from the head coach will be, to set the rules for training, what ought to be done and avoided by the players.
The official engagement between Milovan Rajevac and his players on the pitch will definitely afford the players glorious moment to get to know what is required of them under a new leader.
As Professionals they are, they are fully in the known of what happens when a new coach takes over a team. That must guard them as a new chapter is opened in the books of the Senior National team.
Training – per the itinerary of the tema – will continue till match day. Before the official engagement between the coach and players on the field, some contacts may have taken place between them. Amongst that contact could be a precise and concise message from the coach regarding how players must conduct themselves in camp.
Milovan Rajevac has reduced his list of players to Twenty Seven following an earlier announcement of a Thirty Two man provisional squad for the double-header. Five players were dropped by Milovan Rajevac as he looks ahead to picking his first win in first game as Black Stars head coach. The five players who are not part of the team include Ismail Abdul Ganiu, Tariqe Fosu Henry, Joseph Alfred Duncan, Mubarak Wakaso and Emmanuel Gyasi. Some football enthusiasts in Ghana have demanded reasons behind the latest decision to drop players such as Mubarak Wakaso. It looks unlike that answers may come from the head coach.
Black Stars of Ghana count on winning the double-header against Zimbabwe to keep Group G open. Meanwhile South Africa and Ethiopia are not leaving any stone unturned as they intend to pull a big surprise in World Cup qualification.
