Social media activist and former Communications Manager at Airtel Ghana, Raymond Ablorh has made a bold assertion that President Akufo-Addo and other NPP executives are trying to favor Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia in the upcoming race for flag bearer in NPP.
In a post sited on his social media page on Monday 20th December 2021 he questioned ” Why didn’t Trade Minister, Hon. Alan Kyeremanten sit in the conference yesterday before that Bawumia hype project was executed?
Who gave him that intel ahead of time? Anyway, it’s good he didn’t sit in.”
According to Mr. Ablorh everything had to be done including bending of protocols for even the President to come sit in before the Vice President arrives.
He continued that “while President Akufo-Addo talks of seeking even playing field and calling for unity, he, some Party Executives, MMDCEs and others are working frantically for Bawumia.
Who does he think he’s decieving? Is the 2024 project about proving that NPP isn’t only Akans’party or about providing Ghanaians a reliable leader to consider?”.
Raymond Ablorh believes that as much as it’s politically unwise for him to openly show his support for the man who sacrificed his entire reputation to make him a President, he shouldn’t pretend he’s seeking even playing field while working through some of his appointees and party functionaries for him and against Alan Kyeremanten.
Ending his post he said, the NPP is walking on a very sensitive stretch that could make it break the 8 in disunity in opposition.
This come as a background to annual delegates conference held at Kumasi yesterday, 19th December 2021 by the New Patriotic Party. It was observed that President Akufo-Addo arrived at the program first before The Vice President, Dr. Bawumia instead of the latter arriving first.
The race for a successor of Akuffo-Addo has began to heat up. Notable people to likely contest are Alan Kyerematen, Dr. Bawumia and Akoto Afriyie.
