Students of Savelugu Senior High School in the Northern Region on Sunday embarked on a demonstration against the management of the school over what they consider to be the poor quality of food served at the dining hall.

The students, who protested in the school to express their displeasure, also complained about the quantity of food served.

They alleged that, some of the food items given to them had expired.

A teacher who spoke to kumasionlineNews on condition of anonymity explained that, “the students complained they do not get enough food and the food served was of low quality. According the students they resorted to embark on the demonstration because they are also not allowed to go outside the school’s premises to get food.”

A student also told Citi News, “they should just provide us with the right food,” while another said they have been complaining about the situation for a very long time but nothing has been done about it.

“We have complained about this issue many times, even our teachers are aware and at our meetings too we talk about it but no one is ready to do anything about it.”

School authorities are yet to formally respond to the students’ concerns.
