Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has finally revealed that he was unjustly removed from office adding that claims he triggered confusion in the party are flawed.
“…and you talked about confusion and all that? I did not instigate any confusion at all in our party”, he disclosed on Joy News Personality Profile.
The soft-spoken Engineer cum Politician who looked pensive expressed shock that no one could stand up against the injustice meted against him in the NPP.
When asked if he suggested foul play by some mafia within the party, he responded in the affirmative.
“…I think there were some who felt that I was trying to remove the carpet from under their feet. I was disappointed that people couldn’t stand up. Those who petitioned against me where are they? They were never there. Of course, let’s call a spade a spade…” He said.
He described the occurrences within the NPP at the time as unfortunate indicating that those who even petitioned for his removal from office are still not known for the past seven years.
It would be recalled that the NPP prior to the 2016 polls, suspended NPP suspended its 2nd Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe, alongside Mr. Agyapong in 2015, after they were accused of publicly rebelling against the party’s decision to indefinitely suspend its National Chairman, Paul Awentami Afoko.
Later, the National Executive Council reinstated the membership of Kwabena Agyei Agyapong after several appeals within the party in May 2021.
