VGMA 2022 Best New Artiste of the Year, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, known within the showbiz circles as Black Sherif has disclosed why most of his songs express sadness.
The song of the young artist Black Sherif expresses the challenges the youth go through every day and also conveys a type of feeling showing sadness. According to him, life is full of struggles.
However, the type of style adopted by Black Sherif has been embarrassed by a lot of people who can’t get enough of his music. The fan base of Black Sherif keeps expanding locally and internationally.
Detailing why he chose to focus on projecting the sadness and challenges of life, Black Sherif stated that there is nothing about life to smile at. He pointed out how people suffer to make ends meet and also survive in the country.
“It’s a basic reality everyone in the country knows. It’s not easy to make it here in Ghana. There’s nothing to smile about in this life so I might as well just sad up. I cannot be laughing to the mandem when there’s actually nothing to be happy about”.
“My fans found Black Sherif. They went behind the music to appreciate me. Someone texted me and said bro I swear to God your song really saved me. Bro God bless you. Others also text me to share their relatable experiences with the song and how it has helped them.
“Some also tell me how I’m making bangers and good songs and all. It’s the emotions and how I make my music. You see me putting myself in it and giving my all in that,” he stated.
