Ghanaian centre back Alexander Djiku has been very impressive for his French club over the last 3 seasons. His performances for Ghana too have been nothing short of impressive. He has been one of the few bright spots in the team. His performances have been attracting interest from clubs around Europe. Sevilla was one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in his services but nothing concrete was heard.

According to recent reports in Spain, Sevilla has tabled a concrete offer of 7 million euros for Djiku. The deal is for 3 years. This offer came after Sevilla sold their centre back Diego Carlos to Aston Villa freeing up the space to accommodate the arrival of the Ghanaian. Djiku himself has expressed the desire to test himself elsewhere. His wish is set to be fulfilled as his club has reached an agreement with the Spanish side as champions league football beckons.

It is a good move for him. My hope for him is that he will settle in quickly and continue to develop and show his worth to the club. His growth will also help the Black Stars in the long run because he has been one of the key players in the national team.
