The NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu constituency, Okudzeto Ablakwa, has just tweeted another unusual post on his verified Twitter account.

A paper that details the NPP government’s financial irregularities from 2017 to 2021 totaling over GHS50 million was attached to his post when he published it.

Okudzeto claimed that less than half of the GHS50 billion lost due to financial irregularities is being sought by Ghana’s government from the IMF in the form of a $2–3 billion bailout. According to him, between 2017 and 2021, financial irregularities caused by the NPP administration as a result of mismanagement cost Ghana around GHS 50 billion in total, per the auditor general’s report.

People are buzzing about this Okudzeto Ablakwa’s latest intriguing message.

Through the comment section, some disgruntled NPP supporters questioned him on whether the IMF authorities’ claim that the financial irregularities were to blame for the current economic weakness. They also demanded that he divulge the amount of money he lost to irregularities while he served as minister during the NDC era.
