Multiple award-winning Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., widely known as Shatta Wale has disclosed why he was absent from the recent event.

The “I Know My Level” crooner has come out to respond to the Cheif Executive Officer of Akwaaba UK Dennis Tawiah, the organizers of the annual Ghana Party in the park after they gave their own account of the reason why he (Shatta Wale_ was absent in this year’s event.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Shatta Wale revealed that the organizers could not meet his demands hence his absence.

“We had a plan for him to do a GOG flyer for me in conjunction with Akwaaba UK so the whole title was going to be Akwaaba UK in conjunction with Shatta Movement – GOG Experience and we accepted that.

Secondly, I told him to try and get visas for my team. You know my team is big but we actually came to a conclusion where I could just take four (4) of them with me” he stated.

The dancehall artist disclosed in the interview that he was willing to perform free of charge if his demands were met. However, he was told by the organizers that his demands were too much for the team.

“I felt it was time Ghanaian artists started supporting gatekeepers so I opted to perform for free. I told him I don’t want to charge him any money. I want him to take all the money he makes from the show but he should make sure he gets these two things done right for me.” he said.
