The national democratic Congress member of parliament for North Tungu, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, has assured that he is going to join hands with the good citizens of Ghana to fight the ministry of communication and digitisation to make sure that anyone who’s sim card is disconnected is restored

Mr Okudzeto who noted that “we shall fight together and have them restored” said, since 29th March the national identification authority’s office in his constituency hasn’t been able to print the card for people who duly registered. He emphasized that any attempt by any institution or government to disenfranchise any Ghanaian or course the disadvantage through this Ghana card to any citizen will not be permitted.

According to him, as at now, about 1445 people are yet to receive their cards in the constituency yet they have threatened that by 31st July, if anyone has not yet connected his Ghana card to the SIM card, the SIM card will be deactivated.

Mr Okudzeto stressed a good public policy implementation must bring relief and not distress. Therefore, he is prepared to fight together with the constituents to make sure that they all have they are NIA cards. At the same time, if any of them get disconnected to make sure that the person’s card is restored.

Mr Okudzeto said, “For a good 4 months — since the 29th of March, the NIA Office in North Tongu has been unable to print Ghana Cards for a massive 1,445 beloved constituents of mine who registered for the cards due to what officials are describing as logistical challenges from HQ.

He added that “How were these 1,445 victims of institutional ineptitude expected to meet the draconian July 31 SIM registration deadline, and why should their phones be disconnected?
