You Can Choose Who To Go Out With But Be careful You Don’t Fall Prey To The Sexual Advances Of The Male Gender – Eno Barony Cautions Upcoming Female Musicians.

Buoyant Ghanaian female rapper, Eno Barony otherwise known as the rap goddess has thrown a word of caution to up-and-coming female musicians to be wary of the male gender or risk being taken advantage of.

Flashing back to the onset of her music career, the most decorated Ghanaian female rapper in an interview via phone call with Atanga Alex nicknamed Jah Bless Yem FM, admitted that she has encountered such incidents and that affirming that such happenings have no end. She noted if you are beautiful, you will attract people to yourself and if your music is also good, that alone can make someone fall in love with you, that sounds quite okay but that there are people who are out there just to take advantage of you.

“I think when I was beginning my career, people see you and they know you need help and then I feel like this person can give me genuine help. But then when you go, it’s like a different story. If you are a beautiful girl, someone will see you and the person will have an interest in you, I don’t think that one is bad. If I’m beautiful and I’m praying that my music should attract people even that one can make someone fall in love with me. There’s nothing wrong with someone seeing you and telling you he likes you but then, there’s a difference between liking you and wanting to take advantage of you” she disclosed.

She added that when she was coming up, she didn’t have a management team and she needed the help of people badly to help spark her career but many wanted to capitalize on that to have their way with her.

“Not like the person wants to have something good to do with you as in relationship or anything, but just want to have their way with you because the person thinks you need this and feels let me just do this to you and give it to you and that’s where I have the problem and feels it’s wrong. And I have faced a lot when I was coming up because I didn’t have management at first and it’s like you need people and that was what they wanted to do with you”, she added.

The 2020 AFRIMA best rapper further revealed that even when they blow and become so big, this particular challenge still visits them wherever they go and that’s why she indicated earlier that it isn’t ending anytime soon.

She stated that when you are big and begin to rock shoulders with big people, they only see the male celebrities as their friends but immediately they see the female celebrities, they try to have their way with them.

“Money and fame walk together, and when you are famous and the money starts coming, many people want to be friends with you. The big men will want to make friends with our male counterparts but immediately they see the female celebrities, they just wanna have their way with them. It’s like that and the higher you go the higher you meet this violence and you just need to tackle it in your way”, she stated.

Talking about how to tackle this incident especially to those up-and-coming female musicians taking inspiration from her, Eno noted stressed that, they have to believe in times and the seasons, life as an underground artiste can be depressive but they just have to focus on developing their talents. She revealed how rich men approached her at a time she couldn’t even afford a dress for interviews but she turned them down because they were interested in her body and not her craft.

She advised the rising female musicians to desist from it because once they fall prey to that, they will always have to sleep with investors, bloggers, cameramen, and men they meet on every corner. After all, the demand isn’t going to stop but once you conquer it from the very first beginning then you can go all the way to the top of your career without career-threatening setbacks.
