The recent circulating news that has raised massive reactions across all social media platforms was when the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II finally came out to express his immense concerns over the rise of illegal mining activities which is undoubtedly causing more harm than good to the countries water bodies and forest reserves.
Speaking in a recent interview with TV3 Network, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II highlighted that, the incumbent President, Nana Akufo Addo must put all hands on deck in other fulfill his promise of combating galamsey in the country else the unexpected will undoubtedly happen in the good which will cause more harm than good to civilians.
“From the district levels to the highest level, we are all taking about galamsey. The government set up military cum police to do it, why have we not been able to stop it. If you create a system where we say we will stop it to the extent that the President put his presidency on the line and yet, it is going on then to me, something is wrong somewhere. So we need to review why this is happening; it pollutes our waters”, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II emphatically revealed.
