Ghanaian gospel singer Diana Hamilton has opened up on the relatability of her music. she stressed that blending Twi and English in her music has helped her a lot. she revealed both languages makes her music easily accessible to a lot of people.
“I think it’s helped so much,” she said as she reminisced a recent interview she had with the British Broadcasting Corporation’s BBC with Bola Mosuro as the host.
“Singing in Twi and English combined has helped because I just recently went on the BBC, on an interview, and I had a chat with Bola, the lady that interviewed me. She said, ‘Your blend makes your craft very relatable and understandable by all’.”
She again revealed that Bola informed her about the ease with which she easily relate with her music personally.
“For me, even if I don’t read the subtitles, I’m able to know what you’re talking about,” Bola Mosuro disclosed.
This according to Diana Hamilton is a plus for as she exclaimed, “so it’s helped and why change a winning [strategy]?”
Diana Hamilton agreed with her host, Kwame Dadzie that since what she is doing through music is propagating the word of God thus preaching to people about the life and significance of Jesus Christ, the language should be a factor in her propagation in order to reach as many people as possible.
“People should be able to understand what you’re saying and it’s helped,” she concluded.
