There is no doubt that this two major tribes play a key role in our every aspect to the development of Ghana, whether good or bad. Imagine they advocating peacefully for each other rather than almost being at loggerheads with each other.

Recent times have seen what can be described as a rather long awaiting moment when the Asantehene visited the Anlo state for the celebration of the Hogbetsotso festival. Many saw these as the beginning of a new dawn for many great progress in the coming years ahead.

One can acknowledge that there are many valuable tribes contributing to the progress of the nation Ghana, but these two major tribes have sometimes seen one another with either a negative mindset or through a broken lense. Yet their sons and daughters have individually achieved numerously toward the building of the nation, not undermining the contribution of other tribes.

The Asantehene in recent times, at the Hogbetsotso Za touched on the naked “mistrust” between Asantes and Ewes borne out of differences in political choices or religious beliefs, leading to the existence of inherent animosity between the two ethnic groups.

One is not born by choice, and so youths, sons and daughters of these tribes should acknowledge the effort of their leaders in the Area of leadership as demonstrated to unite for progress, no matter their sphere. Whether in politics, sharing the national cake, religion, sports, entertainment and the likes, there must be that willingness to unite.

Going forward, the Asantehene said, the two groups must boost a historic path dating centuries back. Otumfuo stated that his attendance at the Hogbetsotso was not only to reciprocate Togbe’s visit but to “declare to the nation and the world that Asante and Anlo stand together in friendship and solidarity to buttress the alliance of 178 years ago”.
