The 2022 FIFA World Cup has produced some interesting results leading up to the round sixteen.

Morocco surpassed the round sixteen record they set in 1986 by qualifying for their first ever World Cup quarter final.

After a 120 minutes of action against Spain, the Atlas Lions prevailed over the former champions via a 3-0 penalty shootouts at the Education City Stadium.

Morocco goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou was pleased with the performance of the entire team.

Morocco now join Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana as the only African countries to reach the FIFA World Cup quarter final.

In the other round sixteen game, Portugal had a field day against Switzerland beating them by 6-1 at the Lusail Stadium.
