THE NATIONAL Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, insists his party will retain political power in 2024 and continue with its good works for the country.

According to him, the main opposition political party in the country, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), doesn’t pose any threat to the NPP’s ambition of retaining power in the next national polls.

Nicknamed as ‘Nana B’ in political circles, the NPP guru stated emphatically that the NDC’s newly elected national executives, led by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, cannot stand the NPP executives.

Sounding very confident, he said the NDC has almost retained all their old executives, who were in charge of the party when the NPP won power in 2020, so beating them again would not be difficult.

“The NDC has not presented any new executive who can introduce any new strategy to win power from the NPP in 2024. They have presented the same old team, who have just switched places.

“Their Chairman, Asiedu Nketia, aka ‘General Mosquito’, was the NDC General Secretary when we defeated them. The likes of Sammy Gyamfi and the others were all around during the last polls.

“This is virtually the same old NDC executives and we know how to defeat them,” Nana B, who was speaking with King Edward of Hello FM in Kumasi yesterday, indicated.

According to him, the NDC team cannot pose any threat to the NPP in the coming presidential and parliamentary polls, stressing that the NPP would definitely retain political power in 2024.

“The NDC executives have just changed positions and we shall surely defeat them and retain political power in order to lead the country to the Promised Land,” the NPP National Organiser said.

Nana B also descended heavily on the NDC for discriminating against their (NDC) party members with Akan lineage during their recent elections, noting that few Akan people were voted for.

“The NDC delegates voted for about 25 executives and only six of the elected members have Akan background, which is the biggest ethnic group in the country, and that is not the best,” he indicated.

“In Ghana, the Akans are the largest ethnic group but in the NDC, the Akans are in the minority. But this same NDC would turn around to accuse the NPP of being an Akan party,” Nana B noted.

He stated that virtually all the NDC members with Akan lineage like Peter Otukonor, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Adusei, Kwaku Boahen and Brogya Genfi were rejected during the NDC polls.

Unlike the NDC which discriminates, Nana B said the NPP doesn’t discriminate against any ethnic group, stressing that the NPP executives are evenly elected from all the regions in the country.
