If the parliament of the Republic of Ghana were a place to be taken ‘serious’ and not the ‘cheap’ place, someone like Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu wouldn’t have been going round calling himself Majority Leader or minister of parliamentary affairs.

The above, MyNewsGH.com can confirm, are the express, explicit thoughts of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, who is angry about the interference of his colleague and Majority Leader of Parliament in his (Ken Agyapong’s) ‘fight’ with ace investigative journalist Anas Armeyaw Anas.

Told by Net2 TV host to check his words, Ken Agyapong replied: “No! No! This is my station, I will take him on here. The life I have lived, he has not lived some. No. No”, he insisted on being allowed to ‘dress down’ his leader in Parliament.

“If he (Kyei Mensah Bonsu) likes I will disgrace him. Are you out of your mind? Parliament is cheap that’s why someone like him can be a leader. If he follows Anas the evidence I will bring will shame him. He is just older than me but he has not lived life better than me.” The Loudmouthed Assin Central MP bragged and insulted all at once.

“Is Kyei Mensah better than the judges?” He asked, in reference to judges who were exposed by Anas in an investigative piece three years ago.

“Parliament doesn’t feed me… 1GH¢1,000 is chicken change. Does he know how much I pay for chop money?” Ken Agyapong boasted further.

He said a lot more, as MyNewsGH.com captured far below.

But what did the Majority Leader say?

The Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu criticised the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, for his tirades directed at the investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Speaking on Eyewitness News days ago, he described Kennedy Agyapong’s scathing verbal attacks against Anas as “regrettable”.

He was speaking after Assin Central MP had accused Anas of being corrupt ahead of his documentary exposé on Ghana football, which airs today.

Kennedy Agyapong insisted that Anas’ alleged act of corruption warranted the death sentence. His disdain for the renowned investigative journalist stems from his dislike for Anas’ clandestine methods.

But the Majority Leader disagreed with his personal attacks on Anas, saying his fellow MP has no right to attack Anas.

“If you question his methods, does that mean you should launch a personal blistering attack on the person? Stating emphatically that he is corrupt and so on and so forth. We should be careful, especially us as Members of Parliament,” Mr. Kyei Mensah-Bonsu said.

But Kennedy Agyapong is a man who listens to no one.

He said he won’t take such lessons from the Majority Leader.

“GH¢11,000 for parliament is chicken change.”, he hit.

“I’m daring him (Ken). The parliament investigation Anas did he should bring it. Why should he show Judiciary and not show legislature. We are not in Plato’s ideal world where justice belongs to the strong and rich.” Ken Agyapong went on and on and on.

The bottom line? The Majority Leader shouldn’t have put his mouth in a matter that doesn’t concern him.
