The Black Stars Of Ghana welcomed the Super Eagles Of Nigeria to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday evening in what was their first leg World Cup Playoffs encounter. The match was far from being entertaining as both countries’ inability to score a goal made them settle for a goalless draw at halftime. However, Ghana were slightly the better side in the match as they created the most chances but couldn’t convert them properly against Nigeria.
Thomas Partey captained his country Ghana in today’s match as he delivered a stunning performance against the Super Eagles.
Well, here is the reason why I believe he deserves to win the Man Of The Match Award after his stunning display against Nigeria.

Thomas Partey did a great job in helping Ghana defensively and offensively against Nigeria in the match. The Arsenal Midfielder made life difficult for the Super Eagles attackers as he pressurized them to regain possession severally for his country. Also, the 28-year-old started off some brilliant attacks for Ghana in the match by making decisive passes of the ball and attempting a few shots on goal. Thomas Partey’s all-round performance was impressive and I strongly feel he deserved to win the man of the match award.
