Former beauty queen Ms Sally Akua Amoakowaa has charged fellow media personalities to be circumspect of the things they put out on social media.

According to her, some posts could either be harmful and cause issues for them. The internet never forgets and so any negative video or pist made might come back to haunt them.

“We need to be mindful of what we say or put on social media because we will be answerable to it one day. I am very careful with whatever I say.

“If I don’t have to speak, I say nothing at all. Some celebrities have said things and regretted later. We need to think through what we post out there and be cautious with what we say,” she said.

In an interview, the 2011 Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) winner said she has been very mindful when it comes to sensitive issues or sharing secrets with friends. She prefers to shut up and move on with another topic.

Akua Amoakowaa said she made this decision back in 2018 when she was a victim of an unpleasant circumstance similar to secrets with friends.

This comes at a time when social media in recent times has been flooded with alleged secrets shared by especially celebrity friends who have fallen out.

“I know what I am talking about because I know most of these celebs. I advised myself in 2018 not to share any secrets with any friend and that has helped me a lot. If my colleagues take a cue from it, it will help them too.

“When you don’t tell your confidential stuff to your friends, how can they reveal them in the event that things turn sour between you? Some shared secrets can destroy you for the rest of your life and there are many examples we can attest to lately,” she added.
