Headline sponsors of the Ghana Premier League, Zylofon Cash, have revealed they will consider the possibility of abrogating their contract with the Ghana Football Association if the Ghana Premier League is forced to halt as a result of the findings from the expose on corruption in Ghana Football by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Zylofon last month signed a 5 year deal with the GFA, believed to be worth $10 million to become headline sponsors of the league.

Citi Sports understands that about half of the GFA Executive Committee members are implicated in the video, including over 60 professional referees.

Public Relations Officer for Zylofon Cash, Halifax Ansah-Addo, disclosed to Citi Sports that an exit clause was explored when the two parties negotiated the terms of the deal, and they will consider activating it if the fallout from the video is damaging to their brand.

“If it so happens that the investigation affects the whole organisation [GFA], so much so that the league cannot continue, then we may review the contract,” he said.

“Who enters a contract without an exit clause? I’ve not seen it anywhere before. However the matter hasn’t reached there yet, it just an option we are considering, but we hope we will not get there.”

Number 12 will be premiered at the Accra International Conference Center today [Wednesday] and Thursday at 3pm, 5pm, 8pm and 10pm.
