It has emerged that Ghana Premier League referee Samuel Sukah accepted a healthy sum of money to rig the matchweek 8 fixture played on March 19 2017, between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak in favour of the Phobians.

Sukah awarded a controversial penalty in the 84th minute of the match to home side Hearts of Oak after Awudu Nafiu was adjudged to have handled the ball.

Vincent Atinga made no mistake as he stepped up to convert the spot kick which ensured they picked up all three points.

Despite massive outrage especially from Asante Kotoko after the game he was cleared by the Referee Review Committee of any wrongdoing in the Super Clash.

Sukah did employ the help of his supporting officials to influence the game.

As the main man, he took an amount of Ghc 2,000, while Assistant One Eric Nantiere and Assistant Two Salifu Rahman both pocketed an amount of GHc 1,500 each.

The victory ended Asante Kotoko’s unbeaten run at the time.

He and his cohorts were caught on tape as part of the investigative piece on corruption in football put together by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his team.
